Q: What is CrossFit?

A: CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program that includes a variety of functional movements done at a high intensity. This means that you will be doing a lot of different movements, they will mimic things you do in sport and daily life, and it will be at a high tempo. CrossFit provides capacity in cardio endurance, stamina, speed, strength, power, balance, agility, coordination, flexibility, mobility, and accuracy. These components are what make a well-rounded fit individual and CrossFit will make you better at every single one of them. CrossFit utilizes gymnastics, Olympic lifts, power lifts, running, plyometrics, strongman movements, and many other modalities to challenge the body. CrossFit will expose weaknesses within individuals, however these weaknesses will eventually become new-found strengths, empowering you to a new level of fitness. Whether you are an elite athlete, working mom, or just trying to “get back into shape” CrossFit will improve your overall fitness.

Q: What should I bring?

Q: What is the structure of the class?

A: The duration of the class is one hour. We recommend arriving 5 minutes early as classes start promptly on the hour. We will start with a dynamic warm-up, then move onto skill training, followed by a traditional CrossFit workout, and lastly a cool-down.

 

Q: What if I haven’t worked out in a year, 5 years, 10 years?

A: Some folks are apprehensive that they are not in good enough shape to start a CrossFit program. The fact is, CrossFit is the best way to get back into shape. Each individual who signs up for On-Ramp will be challenged based on their ability; this is not a one-size-fits-all program. We will always work with individual needs and tailor the program to accommodate any level of fitness

 

Q: How much does the class cost?

A: The cost is $150 which includes 2 one-on-one sessions and 1 free month of CrossFit classes. 

Q: Does everyone do the same workout?

A: Yes! However, all CrossFit workouts can be scaled to meet the needs of any fitness level/background. Everyone that goes through On Ramp will go the same workouts but the amount of repetitions and/or weight used will vary from athlete to athlete (regardless, you ARE an athlete now! This is a sport).

Q: What are the freezing and refund policies?

A: Once the membership is purchased, it is up to the member to fulfill the obligation. We offer no refunds once purchased, however we do offer one "freeze" per year. You can freeze your account by emailing us and we can suspend your membership for the time you will be absent.
