Many of you saw the message on the whiteboard today. It basically says that as a gym, we have lost all chalk privileges due to chalk abuse. The chalk suspension began today, and will go through Saturday. Lately, I have been noticing more and more careless use of chalk: chalk hand prints not being mopped up, chalk bucket spills neglected, and just general chalkiness all over the gym. This morning, I walked into what had to be a chalk bomb that was planted in the gym overnight. It was the worst it's ever been.

General chalk use will create SOME chalk on the floor, but careless chalk abuse will lead to an overly messy, chalk-filled gym. Here are some chalk guidelines from this point forward:

1. Don't over-chalk- light application of chalk will do the job. Chalking up after every set is completely unnecessary, and this is coming from someone who is just as sweaty as any other gym member

2. Chalk over the bucket: apply the chalk directly over the bucket, not out in space where it will get everywhere. Chalking over the bucket hurting your time? Don't use it as much!

3. Clean up your chalk mess: this means hand prints, spills and residue from any chalk usage. Use the mop or sanitary wipes to clean up any messes

4. Chalk suspensions and bans: will be put in place if chalk privileges are abused.

Let's all make a better effort! If a drop-in comes by they should wonder if we even have chalk, due to the lack of evidence of it!
