General Gym Business
There are a few things I wanted to address about the gym in general. These are just reminders to help make the gym run more smoothly.
Picking up equipment: most do a good job with this. Just please remember before you leave to retrace your steps and return every piece of equipment you used, both in the warm-up and the WOD. Rarely does someone forget to break a barbell down, but the little things like bands, abmats, med balls, even poker chips are what add up. I probably spend 20 minutes per day picking up random equipment left out. The only reason to leave something out is if you have communicated with someone in the next class and you are leaving something out for them specifically. I would like every incoming class to come into a picked up gym.
Tardiness: Again, most are pretty good about this. I understand that many of your are coming from work or other important obligations. Being late occasionally is acceptable. Being habitually late is not. I put a lot of thought and planning into starting class on the hour and ending the class on the hour. I am committed to being on time for you guys. I know Joe was a fan of the burpee rule, but I don't want to waste time enforcing it, I just want to get the warm-up done properly. If you are late, you are likely missing some key component of the warm-up, which is prepping the body for the WOD. As a general rule, please arrive at least 5 minutes before class. If you're not early, you're late!
Parking: I've talked to the bank manager next door and he's asked me to ask anyone who parks in the garage next door to kindly find a different spot (sorry Dito, your secrets out). Anyway I'm not even sure who or how many of you park in there, but he was totally cool about it, he just doesn't want his customers to not have spaces to park.
We are a community of friends, family, and workout buddies. If everyone makes an effort to be better about the little things around the gym, everyone will have a better experience.
