Tabata is 20 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest for 8 rounds. The goal is to get as many reps as possible during that 4 minutes. One exercise is performed at a time.
Death by is 1 rep in minute 1, 2 reps in minute 2, and so on until the required amount of reps cannot be met.
